Verano y Otono Porteno, by Astor Piazzola
clarinet: Holly Hang
piano: Kuo-ying (Chloe) Lee
Translated as "Summer & Autumn in Buenos Aires". Written by Astor Piazzolla, and arranged by Jose Bragato, long time cellist in Piazzolla's Nuevo Tango ensembles. The original arrangement was for violin and cello, later adapted for clarinet and bassoon, which is what we are playing here (although obviously not on bassoon).
Etre ou ne pas Etre, by Henri Tomasi
Tenor Trombone: Ethan Wills, Jon Gauer & Julie Gray
Translated as "To Be or not To Be", based on Hamlet's famous monologue. It was one of Henri Tomasi's last works, written in 1963. It was a lifelong goal of Tomasi's to write a piece based on the entire play Hamlet, but only made it so far as this trombone quartet (although as a conceptual piece with little written about it from the composer himself, it could be argued that he had accomplished that here).
